Alyssa grew up in Carroll, Iowa where she graduated from Carroll Kuemper High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Northern Iowa in 1997 and received her Juris Doctorate from Drake Law School in 2000.

After being admitted to practice in Iowa, Alyssa began her legal career at Iowa Legal Aid in Des Moines. At Legal Aid, she handled hundreds of divorce and child custody cases. Many of these cases involved allegations of domestic abuse or complex child custody issues. After almost two years practicing family law at Iowa Legal Aid, Alyssa went into private practice with the Marberry Law Office in Des Moines, Iowa. In private practice Alyssa continued to represent men and women in all types of family law cases including divorce, child custody, and adoptions.


After working in private practice, Alyssa accepted a position as an Assistant Warren County Attorney in Indianola, Iowa. She also represented the State of Iowa in Child in Need of Assistance and Termination of Parental Rights cases. After relocating to Fort Dodge, Iowa, Alyssa opened her own solo practice in order to provide legal representation to the communities of Fort Dodge, Webster City, Humboldt, Rockwell City, Algona, Sac City. She is available to take cases anywhere in North Central Iowa.
